Trump Administration
An article published by NBC highlights how current political policies are affecting women's rights and reproductive justice. The article, titled ‘We were lied to’: Two women the Trump administration tried to send to El Salvador prison speak out, reveals shifts in the U.S. immigration and prison systems. It suggests that these women are no longer being granted due process or deported to their home country; instead, they are being sent to a different country for an indefinite prison sentence. This raises concerns about transparency and accountability, as the prison is located outside their home nation, making it less likely for potential abuses to be reported. Additionally, it leaves their children without a parent. This article does not address whether these children will remain in the United States or face deportation alone.

This definitely is a concern that should be looked into. Not having due process is illegal.
ReplyDeleteThis is extremely upsetting to read, as these women, amongst many others, are being treated in a way that is not only unfairly but in an inhumane way. It is concerning to know that things like this are happening.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of worrying news about this El Salvador prison. There's a lot of speculation that they are killing the inmates and that's why no one ever leaves.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that individuals are being deported and imprisoned without fair hearings is deeply concerning and demands immediate attention.
